USING MS ACCESS WITH WIN XP I COULD USE A TABLE CONTAINING AN OLE OBJECT FIELD (example: item code and item photo in the ole field). WITH WINDOWS 7 THE RECORDS IN MY TABLES MADE WITH WIN XP DISPLAY PROPERLY (example: ITEM CODE AND PHOTO), BUT I CAN NO LONGER INPUT NEW RECORDS IN THE OLE FIELD OF THE TABLE. WHENEVER I TRY TO DO SO, I GET THE PHOTO FILE NAME FOLLOWED BY '(command line) PREVIOUSLY THE FIELD CONTENT WAS IDENTIFIED AS 'MS PHOTO EDITOR OBJECT', NOW THE OLDER RECORDS IN THE TABLE STILL SHOW 'MS PHOTO EDITOR' BUT THE NEW ONES 'PACKAGE'. IF I PRINT A REPORT BASED ON THE TABLE THE OLDER RECORDS WILL SHOW ALL THE FIELDS INCLUDING THE PHOTO, FOR THE NEWER RECCORDS I GET THE MESSAGE 'NO CONTROL IN THIS REPORT'. THE CONSEQUENCE IS THAT I CANNOT UPDATE BY ARTICLES DATABASE WITH NEW PRODUCTS THANKS FOR YOUR HELP OS: WIN 7 SOFT MS ACCESS OFFICE 2010.
How to create an ole object from a file - Ms-access. In an OLE Object field using code to read the image in as binary data. Reference in Access to Microsoft. I need to unpack a bunch of values (Single data type) from an OLE Object field. I think the Windows API has a CopyMemory function that could, for example, get 4-byte chunks of the field which could then be put in an array or table or something.
